General description
The Gulbenkian acts as the front door to the University of Kent at Canterbury campus. With its welcoming foyer and café bar it’s a meeting place for students, staff and the general public. Presents student, professional and amateur shows throughout the year.
World music, jazz, folk and classical music feature regularly in the programme. It is possible to see a full range of productions in each season, varying from stand-up comedy, to dance to drama. The Academy of Ancient Music and The London Mozart Players performed at the venue in 2006.
Performance space details
340 raked seats, flat, open thrust stage raised 0.6m above auditorium floor. Performing area 4.95m DS, 10.97m US by 10.13m depth. Flat floor - hardboard on sprung wood, suitable for all dance. Wheelchair access to the stage.
