General description
Lincoln Early Music Festival promotes two stand alone concerts in January/February and April/May and a week long Festival in second week in August. We concentrate on presenting high quality performers of medieval and renaissance music to our appreciative and supportive audiences. We pride ourselves on our customer care of audiences and performers alike. The Festival receives local authority, Arts Council and Early Music Network funding.
Performance space details
Concerts are held mainly in the Chapel of Bishop Grosseteste College. This provides a wonderfully responsive acoustic for this period of music and the modest size encourages/facilitates two-way communication between performers and audiences. The Chapel is on the ground floor ensuring easy access for disabled people and for unloading large instruments into the performing space.
