General description
The Newcastle Early Music Festival, now in its tenth year, is a joint promotion between Newcastle University and the North East’s resident period instrument orchestra Newcastle Baroque. It promotes concerts and educational events covering a range of ‘early musics’, including folk and traditional, to audiences from the city and region and is funded by the Early Music Network, the Arts Council of England North East, and Newcastle University.
Performance space details
The main venue is the University’s King’s Hall, which offers a high profile space well suited to larger vocal and instrumental ensembles as well as smaller groups. There is good disabled access.
